What is also?
also is a program for adults that provides skills upgrading and tools towards work and daily living.
What does also offer?
We are a small program that offers one-to-one teaching in literacy, math, and computers. In order to encourage and sustain self confidence, also instructors work to build upon the skills learners already have.
also offers many programs and opportunities for adult learners. These include:
- adult upgrading (including literacy, ASL and English, math, life skills)
- ACElinks High School Equivalency Program Computer Module
- also elearning Grade 12 equivalency/high school credit program
- supported volunteering in Heartwood House
- workshops in cooking, poetry, and more
- family literacy support for parents
Is there anything for my children?
We also have free childcare for children 6 months to 6 years while learners are at also. The Children's Program is enriched with literacy and language, and it helps develop your child's early literacy skills to give him/her a better start at school. It is a small program run by trained staff.
When is also open?
also - Adult Program
also is open for morning and afternoon sessions Monday to Friday.
- Morning sessions run from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
- Afternoon sessions run from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The Children's Program is open Monday to Thursday for the same hours.
also - Deaf Adult Program
also Deaf Program – also is open for morning and afternoon sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, and afternoon and evening sessions on Thursdays.
- Morning classes run from 9:00 am - 12 noon
- Afternoon classes run from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
- Evening classes run from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
